About the Bronze Age
1970 – 1986
Darker Themes, Bigger Range
The Bronze Age brought anti-heroes, social issues, and a wider range of genres. Marvel's Tomb of Dracula, Ghost Rider, and Luke Cage pushed boundaries. DC's horror anthology titles flourished. The 15–25 cent era marks this period clearly.
Key Issues
Bronze Age Keys
Hulk #181 (first Wolverine), Giant-Size X-Men #1, New Teen Titans #2, and dozens of horror and war titles define Bronze Age collecting. More accessible than Silver Age but with significant key issues in high demand.
Great for Collectors
Why We Love This Era
Bronze Age books are old enough to be genuinely collectible but recent enough that many titles are still findable at reasonable prices. Complete runs of popular titles from this era are particularly satisfying to hunt down.
