"Drawing Children of the Blockade"

This book is mostly in Russian, although their are a few English inscriptions. It is in good, almost like-new condition. It appears to be very rare.

"This album presents pictures drawn by the children of of Leningrad kindergartens during the period of the Nazi siege (1941-1944). In those terrible days the kindergarten teachers strove to preserve the children amidst the hell of bombing and artillery bombardment by drawing their attention away from depressing ideas, by keeping them occupied with something interesting. .... This album contains the drawings made by children from three to twelve years of age, and likewise the explanations given by them of their own productions."
